On 20 July 2019 at Chinese Cemetery Banphru, Hatyai Sondkhla, I applied to the run to help donating money to our one's world mate. This activities balance my personal life, my studies and my physical health. Day 1
Today is the first day to see the work at Somdetphraphutthaloetla Hospital, which at initial I felt not bothered, however when I get to observe the work, it was really excited. The first day went to orthopedist or medical doctor who specializes in the treatment of a musculature system of the body. My friend and I get to sit beside and observe the doctor treat patients. The doctor examines each patient case by case. The doctor is a very kindhearted doctor, also being calm to the patients; this is the good doctor's qualifications. The doctor explained to us that this case patient had suffered an accident; the bone fracture had to be performed like this. Today I learned many cases. What I learned from my doctor today is that only knowledge is not enough, but also learning that ethics is the main reason to help us to get through work. Day 2 Today is the 2nd day that I came to see the event. Today I went to the X-ray department. X-ray department is one of the most crucial departments. In addition, this section needs doctors to diagnose preliminary patients, before going to see a doctor who owns the case again. There are many types of x-rays. As technology has now developed so far, we can make X-ray faster and get more value. Today, I went to see the doctor's X-ray for the patients with a fever that is suspected of being cancer. This process was done by swallowing starch, which allows us to see which part of the flour, which able to flow well or not. Moreover, it is possible to look at breast ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound cysts, suspected appendicitis. The most essential thing that I have learned today is to listen to the doctor to diagnose various causes through the X-ray film, he explained everything in detailed. What has been learned today is that learning has never really ended in this world. There are many things that we have not yet learned. To conclude from the experience of today, which is obtained from the doctor, which is a lot And it will be used the best. Day 3 Today I applied at the obstetrics-gynecology. I met a doctor, who is the head of that subsection. He tough us by explaining as the picture in comparison to the general environment. Besides, I get to watch the ultrasound. The medical student checked the children each month by looking at the site from the head to the thigh bone. A professor is a straightforward person, he likes to teach and give knowledge to others. In addition, he also taught general knowledge. In the afternoon, my friend and I observed the physical therapy. It is the preventive stages of diagnosing physical abnormalities, restoring physical function and mobility. Day 4 Today I went to the emergency room or ER to see the urgency in each case. On the day, it has been viewed as a day that is not very chaotic, however, there are heavy cases and very urgent in some cases. For example, heartbeat less than normal, motor hit the foot, psychedelic, wireless eye pain causes, and babies get oxygen because of sickness. Moreover, in the afternoon I went to see how ophthalmologist treats the patients. Mostly in the ophthalmology department, there are elderly people. Day 5 Today I get to observe the operating room or the OR. There are lots of case such as childbirth, sterilization, hernia, bipolar bone hysterectomy hemiarthroplasty, change PCN cable, laparoscopic surgery for cirrhosis, and prostate gland surgery. Overall Refection Shadowing a physician provided great insight into what it is really like to be a doctor, however, I felt that some patients are uncomfortable in the term privacy of the patients. The primary care doctors that I was shadowing would say to the patients "We have a medical student with us today, do you mind if they observe?" One of the biggest reasons why I enjoyed shadowing is hearing the patient's stories. Besides, I liked how doctor here patiently and kindly interacts with patients, performs procedures, and converses with his or her coworkers. Furthermore, I ask the doctor for more detail about specifics diseases and strategies for dealing and engaging with patients. Lastly, shadowing gives me tangible goals, making me realize more of my passion for medicine. |
