Reflection
My class had come up with a piece of writing that we later divide it up into parts so we can encrypt it. The encryption has to be the form of matrices as well as the finding of determinant, finding inverse, and decryption. Our class discussed the piece of writing that our class chose to create funny scenario from the true the story in our math class. It has 720 letters in total so we divided the letters into 36 letters for each individual. With 36 characters, so I choose to use 6 x 6. Then, we create a table that indicates the number in alphabetical. I think the hardest part of this project is finding the encode matrix because the determinant need to be 1. I did some research for tips and tricks. I recalculate I work again and again; I always make a simple mistake because there are lots of numbers and I get mess up. When there is a mistake in one place, I need to start all over again. This project make me become more precise as I always keep checking my answers.

Objective
1. We need to include circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola at least twice in our picture. 2. Use both general form and the standard form for each shape. 3. Be able to know and understand each equation or function. Reflection I chose Stitch as the subject for my project because I have loved cartoon characters since I was young. At first, the graphing project didn’t make sense to me because I have no idea where to start with. After my group has received all the information and guidance, we split the jobs. My job was to draw the doll. I thought math was all about solving problems, however math is like an art, we use each equation to represent each line. The curve line and coloring have been the hardest part of creating my Desmos art project because it required lots of tricks. The coloring was hard because in some areas I didn’t want that specific place to be colored. These tricks took quite some time to figure it out, however with the helps of my friends and teacher everything became easier. I found that my understanding of quadratic (or exponential, power, etc.) equations, including circle, hyperbola, ellipse and etc. really improved during my work on this project. Although I was having trouble understanding some parts while doing the graphing I kept trying until I was happy with results. I found that Desmos was a good tool for me to express what I have learned in class because this project required the knowledge of the conic section. Eslos Strategic Learners : I recognize what is important to know and understand. I can reflect on my learning and how my mistakes while graphing help me to improve. Besides, my group and I plan how to learn without wasting time. We separated the work clearly, so everyone have there own job to do. For example, my job is to do some coloring part and the green doll. I use technology in an effective way to do research and to work. Innovative Thinkers : I can apply what I know to about learning conic section in class to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems while doing the project. To create this products I need to be creative and original, also using the technology to create high quality products. Leaders for the Future : One thing that I loved about our team is that we work together as one team, and not as an individual. We gave each other ideas to develop their graphing lines and coloring. We use technology to solve our problems and do our work together. Moreover, I learnt to listen more to others’ feedback and opinions. |
